The Analytical Technical Solutions (ATS) organization is a dedicated team specializing in providing technical support and expertise for biological analytical testing. Our primary responsibilities include method development, validation, remediation, and offering technical guidance to support Quality Control operations. With a focus on maintaining the highest standards of quality and regulatory compliance, ATS collaborates closely with various stakeholders to resolve complex analytical issues and support investigations.
ATS is expanding its expertise and responsibilities towards lean laboratory operations, PAT and laboratory automation. Technology scouting and procedure development in the field is an exciting new opportunity within the ATS space.
Our site in 1210 Vienna is a strategic location for solid drug manufacturing including tablets, coated tablets, granules and implants for the health provision and treatment of livestock and domestic animals. Key Responsibilities:
- Owns management, people and budget responsibility for the ATS Austria team
- Builds up the ATS Krems team in close cooperation with site colleagues and stakeholders
- Owns, executes and directs analytical technical solutions (ATS) laboratory and transfer activitiesincluding training and mentoring of junior colleagues and regionally deployed temporarycolleagues in a pharmaceutical GMP and quality control (QC) environment.
- Supports with his team ATS projects on various sites of the MSD animal health manufacturingnetwork
- interacts with local QC and pharma & bio process technology (PTS, BTS) team to generatesynergies and effective resource allocation
- Supports (global) programs in the region; where appropriate, owns or shares responsibilities forone or more programs/projects in the region
- Represents ATS on local/regional/global teams, for example in analytical innovation or problemsolving including periodic activity updates, conference calls, and face to face meetings
- Works with Exec. Director ATS in strategic deployment of all resources
- Owns local as well as regional test remediation activities; supports regional and globalrepresentation where appropriate.
- Assists in the development and reporting of metrics for regional/global sites
- Supports Exec Director ATS to ensure Quality Control Method Remediation and Improvementefforts (QC Method Robustness) are aligned with Product Remediation and Improvement (ProductRobustness) efforts where feasible.
- Ensures remediation and investigation priorities are aligned with local Site Management, QualityOperations and Regional Heads at regional site(s)
- Represents shop floor concerns related to Quality Control Method remediation and improvementefforts at sites to support informed decisions regarding project prioritization, resource allocation,and risk management.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree, master's degree in pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, biological, analyticalscience or food chemistry required or equivalent job experience.
- >5 years' experience in the research, manufacture, and testing of Pharmaceutical and/or biologicalproducts required including sound knowledge in key analytical technologies like HPLC, UPLCchromatography or ELISA
- Experience in method development & validation as well as method robustness
- Analytical troubleshooting applying DoE and scientific problem solving
- Experience in leading and developing teams and employees
- Good German and English language skills in talking and writing
- Proficient in technical writing and current computer usage (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- End to end understanding of pharma business processes, holistic thinking
