Process Engineer

Summary

As a Process Engineer you are responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing production processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety. You analyze current processes to identify areas for improvement, ensuring operations run smoothly while minimizing costs and environmental impact. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and maintain competitive advantages in manufacturing.

Role Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize industrial processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Create and maintain process flow diagrams (PFDs) and process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Monitor and analyze process performance to ensure efficient production operations.
  • Implement process control strategies to maintain optimal operating conditions.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to resolve process-related issues and minimize downtime.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies like Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Assist in the selection and maintenance of equipment to ensure efficient operation and proper spare parts management.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations through regular risk assessments.
  • Develop and maintain detailed process documentation, including operating procedures and training materials.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support seamless process integration and product consistency.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong proficiency in process engineering to design and optimize industrial processes
  • In-depth knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma to enhance efficiency and product quality
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder relationships
  • Solid understanding of process-related standards and safety regulations to ensure compliance and maintain safe operating conditions
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct data analysis and interpret results for process improvements
  • Exercises autonomy and judgement subject to overall direction or guidance
  • Complies with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, and arrangements
