About Our Client
Our client in the city of Salzburg is an established engineering office that acts as a general contractor for large-scale plant construction projects worldwide for its customers in the chemical industry. The projects are executed under the EPC (Engineering-Procurement-Construction) contract model. The company is currently growing due to high demand for the industrial plants offered.
As a Process Engineer with a special focus on safety aspects of the process facilities, you will be primarily responsible within the engineering team for the process engineering execution of plant construction projects from the proposal phase to the commissioning of the newly built plants on-site at the customer.
The Process & Safety Engineer's position is full-time job. You will by directly employed by our client on a permanent contract.
Job Description
- Design the process of chemical and propellant plants based on client requirements.
- Prepare the process related documentation of plants such as process description, BFD, inputs for PFD and P&ID, main equipment lists, conceptual equipment arrangements, heat & mass balances, media and equipment process specifications.
- Technical development works on the process and safety of plants.
- Execution of HAZOP studies with the project team and preparation of the related documents such as FMEA, explosion protection documents, zoning and escape route plans and quantity distances.
- Support the division head in technical offer preparation, client meetings and technical clarifications during bidding phase.
- Cooperation within the internal engineering team and with external experts.
- Support during acceptance tests, inspections and commissioning.

The Successful Applicant
- Successfully completed university degree in process engineering, chemical engineering, or technical chemistry.
- Professional experience in the chemical industry (ideally in an engineering office or with an engineering service provider), alternatively from the oil and gas industry, is required.
- Experience with the execution of HAZOP studies and preparation of related documents.
- Willingness to travel internationally for about 25% of the annual working time during the commissioning of the plants at the customer, with longer periods without travel alternating with 2-4 month assignments. The worldwide assignments (Europe, Asia, America, Africa, ...) are compensated with a 40% higher salary and are also tax-advantaged. Home visits are possible in between (details in the interview).
- Good English skills are important; good German skills are highly advantageous.
